About
We’ve brought together 27 community-led relief efforts from across Massachusetts to offer a one-stop option for individuals and foundations seeking to contribute directly to frontline relief during the coronavirus crisis.
Donations to the Mass Redistribution Fund go to community organizations that are working around the clock to meet the needs of our neighbors who are most at risk of severe consequences in this crisis, from low-income renters facing eviction to undocumented families and people in prison.
Your donation will:

Why Grassroots
Grassroots groups across Massachusetts have been among the first responders in the unfolding coronavirus crisis, working around the clock to support our most impacted neighbors. These groups have moved quickly because before the pandemic hit, they were already working to provide relief for urgent community needs while building the long-term community resilience necessary to weather future storms.
Working with retail and service workers out of work, low-income renters unable to make rent, undocumented workers suddenly without incomes and ineligble for government support, or those in prison and denied basic cleaning supplies; these grassroots groups protect and support our neighbors facing life-threatening challenges that cannot be solved on their own.
In the face of the coronavirus crisis and economic crash, these groups are ramping up their work, meeting urgent needs and providing forward-looking solutions so that we don’t repeat the mistakes that got us here.
By making a donation or pledging to #ShareMyCheck with the Mass Redistribution Fund, you’ll join a growing movement of people putting community health over personal wealth. Your money will be shared among a diverse group of direct relief funds and urgent efforts across Massachusetts to stabilize families, workers, elders, prisoners and immigrants, and to amplify the long-term changes we need for community resilience next time a crisis hits.
We are in a moment of upheaval. Just as COVID-19 has shown us that we depend on each other for our physical health, it’s more clear than ever that protecting our neighbors who are most threatened by this crisis makes everyone stronger. We must also look ahead to build a just and more resilient future.
